Staffordshire, England is a county rich in potting clay and became a center for manufacturing pottery over 200 years ago. We have a fine collection of 19th Century Staffordshire which includes many pairs of dogs large and small, Spaniel Spill Vases, Poodles including one rare pair holding baskets in their mouths, and dogs with puppies. We also have a number of Hens on Nests tureens. We even have Staffordshire couples with applied flowers.
Rookwood Pottery was founded in 1880 by Maria Longworth (first female manufacturing company in the U.S.). Rookwood was the first U.S. company to gain artistic recognition when awarded the First Prize Gold Medal at the Paris Exposition in 1889. We have many pieces, some of which are artist-signed.
We have a fine collection of pre-1940's Roseville Pottery in pristine condition. It includes patterns such as Pinecone, Magnolia, Iris, Ixia, Cosmos, Jonquil, Wisteria, Poppy, Gardenia, Thornapple, Bushberry, Clematis, White Rose, Water Lily, Fushia and an early 1907 Matte Blue. We also have some pieces of rare 1930's Roseville Ferella.
We carry a large selection of Chinese Export Rose Medallion. It's just beautiful and most pieces date back to 1850. You will find punchbowls, teapots, teacup and saucers, pitchers, candlesticks, soup tureens, platters, covered jars and vases of all sizes.
We carry a wide variety of high quality antique furniture, all in original condition. We have pieces that date back to the 1700's up to Mid-Century Modern circa 1960s. Among many items we currently have in stock are a Mid-18th Century Highboy, George III Chest on Chest, 18th Century China Cabinet, and a Pennsylvania Chest of Drawers circa 1750. We have tilt-top tables, card tables and candle stands.
We have many desks to suit every need. In our collection are an English Chinoiserie desk/ bookcase and a Chippendale slant front desk. "Newer" examples we have are a small sized roll-top desk at 27" wide, and a Rockford Classic drop-front secretary bookcase both dating to the early 20th century. We have a beautiful Mid-Century Modern John Stuart for the Mt. Airy Janus Collection China Credenza and a matching Dry Bar on wheels, all ready for your next big cocktail party. We have china cabinets, chairs, stools, Hoosiers, commodes, and Barrister book cases just to name a few. We have outstanding Chinese Red Lacquer Cabinets and desks - great accent pieces!
